CAHL Cup Championship:
Tornadoes vs.
Ice Storm on Friday, August 31

The
Ice Storm defeated the
Tornadoes on Friday evening to
capture the CAHL Cup Championship. The Tornadoes were awarded
the CAHL 2007 Silver Medals.
The CAHL 2007 Playoff
MVP Trophy was presented to
Patrick Lauzon who had four goals and an assist on the night
to finish the playoffs with an amazing total of 20 points for
the Ice Storm.
Ice Storm forwards
Jason Petelski and
Nick Oriold combined for
an colossal sum of seven assists in the match.
Petelski and
Oriold racked up a total
of 11 points apiece in the post season. The CAHL 2006-2007 Top
Defenceman Trophy winner Martin Robichaud
was in his top flight form as both he and fellow blue liner
Kyle Myden fired in a pair
of goals.
Shaughn McAuliffe
set up a goal and also hit the back of the net for the Ice Storm
while
Brian Sawchuk
contributed an assist.
Ice Storm goalie
Mark Cole made some nice
stops through the three periods en route to the CAHL Cup
Championship victory.
Line mates
Kenton Lefthand and
Logan Dixon combined for
three goals as
Lefthand had a pair
of scores in the opening period while
Dixon rifled in the puck
during the last period.
Stan Mazursky notched
an assist on
Kenton Lefthand's
second goal of the contest.
Brad MacDonald scored
for the Tornadoes as well with a goal at the 9:34 mark of the
third frame. Seven minutes later team mate
Ryan
Ewasiuk
made a dazzling forehand to backhand deke to score the final
goal of the match.
Goaltender
Rob O'Donnell denied
some big chances from the Ice Storm especially his awesome glove
grab on short range shot during the third period.

Division II
Playoffs:
Tornadoes vs.
Snipers on Monday, August 27
The
Tornadoes defeated the
Snipers 9-7 in an
exciting back and fourth playoff contest on Monday night.
Player of the game
Logan Dixon propelled the
Tornadoes with an excellent hat trick.
Stan Mazursky had a
great three point night as well with a goal and two assists.
Ryan
Ewasiuk
scored the eventual game winning goal with a perfect top shelf
backhand shot with just 5:33 left in the final period to break
the 7-7 deadlock.
The Snipers pulled their goalie for the extra attacked however
the Tornadoes responded and
Steve Foster added an
empty net insurance marker with 36 seconds left.
Patricio
Inostroza also scored for the Tornadoes while
Kenton Lefthand and
Tommy McIvor
notched one and two assists respectively.
Tornadoes goalie Rob O'Donnell
came up with some nice stops for the big playoff victory.
The Snipers player of the game
Jamie Sexton went in on a
breakaway during the middle period and perfectly executed a
forehand to backhand deke move to score his first of two goals
on the night.
Jamie Sexton also had an
assist for a total of three points.
Pat Smith,
Jeremy Rogers, and
Jeff Stevenson each
notched three points apiece for the Snieprs as well.
Smith and
Rogers both fired in a
pair of goals and an assist while
Stevenson had the
opposite with one goal and two helpers.
Snipers
Alex Fraser,
Chris Bierwagon, and
Trent Ranahan all
contributed a couple of assists while
Ian Sexton had one assist.
Goaltender
Josh Wildey denied some
great chances by the Tornadoes and finished with 18 stops.

Snipers on Wednesday, August 22

Player of the game
Brian Samoswski
rifled in both goals for the
Tornadoes in their loss to the
Snipers on Wednesday night. Tornadoes goaltender
Rob O'Donnell deflected
away 16 pucks in the match.
Marksman
Alex Fraser was the Snipers
player of the game as he scored a superb hat trick and an assist
for a total of four points.
Fellow Sniper
Jeff Stevenson also had
an awesome four point showing and finished the season as his
team's leader in points with 27.
Snipers
Jamie Sexton and
Jeremy Rogers
both notched great three point nights.
Joe Gay,
Ian Sexton, and
Campbell
Dansereau each scored a goal and an assist.
Trent Ranahan and
Pat Smith also launched in a
goal apiece.
Between the pipes,
Snipers goalie
Josh Wildey possessed an
elite .939 save percentage as he backstopped his team to the
victory.

The lethal duo of
player of the game
Logan Dixon and
Kenton Lefthand
combined for a total of eight goals for the
Tornadoes as they defeated the
Gladiators.
Both players scored four times and
Logan Dixon also added an
assist to amass five points.
Stan Mazursky had a
great three point night for the Tornadoes while
Jamie Ryan and
Ryan
Ewasiuk
fired in a goal apiece.
Phil Ray contributed an
assist on
Kenton Lefthand's
second goal of the match in the first period.
The Tornadoes goalie
Rob O'Donnell deflected
16 pucks and made a big glove grab late in the match on a close
range scoring chance.
Sam Fares was the
Gladiators player of the game as he scored a goal and an assist
for a big two point showing.
Shane Graham also had a
couple of points with a pair of assists while
Adel Fares notched an
assist on his team's final goal of the night.
Goaltender
Lino Martino reacted to
a point blank shot with a great pad stack save and also had
another memorable moment in the second period when he made three
consecutive stops on three shots from just the edge of the goal
crease.
Martino racked up a
total of 28 saves in the game.

Tornadoes vs.
Hazards on Friday, August 10
Josh Horning had a
commanding four goal player of the game display to boost the
Hazards
to a Friday night win against the Tornadoes.
Fellow Hazard J.R. Mitdital
was dangerous as well with his dominant speed and puck control
as he fired in a goal and an assist.
Greg Schamps and
Taylor MacDonald each
contributed a goal as well for the Hazards while
Tim Barnes collected an
assist.
The Hazards goalie Arnason
racked up 18 saves and made some top notch stops in the process.
The Tornadoes player of the game
Logan Dixon led his team
with a big two point showing as he scored goal and an assist.
Steve Rasmussen also
picked up an assist in the match.

Tornadoes vs.
Ice Storm on Monday, July 30
Carlo DeLuca was the
Ice Storm player of the game as he
had another strong defensive showing from the back end to help
energize his team to a victory against the
Tornadoes.
Patrick Lauzon and
Nick Oriold guided the
potent Ice Storm offence with four points apiece.
Mike Cook and
Brett Watts both had three
point nights.
Shaughn McAuliffe
fired in a pair of goals while
Paul Bergen scored once.
Ice Storm goalie
Mark Cole turned aside 16
shots for the shutout win.
The 2005-2006 CAHL Cup Champion and Gold Medal winner
Joe Nitychoruk had a
strong performance for the Tornadoes and picked up the player of
the game honours for his team.
Rob O'Donnell made some
good stops as he denied 25 pucks on the night for the Tornadoes.

Cyclones on Friday, July 27
Kenton Lefthand
was spectacular as he
scored four goals and four assists to power the
Tornadoes to a Friday evening win
against the
Cyclones.
Fellow Tornadoes
Stan Mazursky and
Ryan
Ewasiuk
made huge contributions as well with
Mazursky netting a hat
trick while
Ewasiuk notched
a total of four points.
Joe Nitychoruk also
scored his fifth of the season.
Tornadoes goaltender
Rob O'Donnell deflected
away 13 pucks for his second straight victory.
Goal per game scorer
Joel Nedohin fired his
his sixth goal in just six games for the Cyclones. Goalie
Joe Leung put together
some nice stops as he denied 27 shots through the three periods.

Tornadoes vs.
Rug Doctors on Friday, July 20
The Tornadoes
won 7-5 against the Rug
Doctors on Friday night.
Stan Mazursky was the
Tornadoes player of the game as he led the way with an
outstanding four point night. Team mate
Ryan
Ewasiuk
scored twice including the game winning goal.
Jamie Ryan got one goal
and one helper to take over the Tornado team scoring lead once
again. Number eight
Joe Nitychoruk
finished with a goal and an assist as well. Fellow Tornado
Rusk Ditto scored at the
5:49 mark of the middle frame.
Tornado goalie
Rob O'Donnell made some
nice stops and turned aside 14 shots for the victory.
The Rug Doctors player of the game
Clark
Piechotta and team mate
Garhett
Piechotta scored a combined total of six points with both
players setting each other up.
Clark
Piechotta notched a pair of goals and an assist while
Garhett
Piechotta had the opposite with a goal and a couple of
assists.
Cole Piechotta also
scored for the Rug Doctors.
Number 25
Brad Rogan fired in a
goal with 9:17 showing on the score clock in the final period.
Mark Boulton
contributed a assist on the ngiht.
Rug Doctors goalie
Andy Leung made some big
saves among the total of 28 pucks aimed his way which included a
dozen stops in the second period alone.

Potters on Monday, July 9

Scott Roy sped down the left
wing and fired in a perfect top corner wrist shot for his
second goal of the night at the 3:09 mark of the opening period.
Roy ended up scoring once
more to complete the hat trick and player of the game effort as
he powered his
Saskatchewan Potters to a Monday night victory against the Tornadoes.
The Potters had a
number of other memorable contributions as well such as
Brandon Gramlich and
captain Greg Bergeron's
awesome four points apiece. Team mate
Brendan Engdahl tallied
a whopping sum of five assists in addition to his bullet top
shelf slap shot goal in the second period. Number 21
Kevin Demyon had a great
three point game while
Dustyn Auramenko
notched a pair of points and
Tyler Bohn collected an
assist.
Potter goalie
Thomas Waters made an
excellent blocker save on a two man breakaway in the final
period and lowered his already leading goals against average to
2.80.
Ryan
Ewasiuk
made a great cross ice pass to
Jamie Ryan to set up the
first Tornado goal of the game.
Jamie Ryan would soon
return the favour as he set up
Ryan
Ewasiuk's
goal just two minutes later.
Jamie Ryan and
Ryan
Ewasiuk
both finished with big two point games.
Ryan is now tied with
Tommy McIvor
for the team
lead in points.
McIvor's two game streak
of consecutive player of the game honours which saw him collect
a total of four goals and two assists ended but once again he
displayed his puck handling and passing skills.
Tornadoes
Robert MacInnis and
Joe Nitychoruk each
contributed an assist on the night.
Goaltender
Josh Wildey was the
Tornadoes player of the game as he made a great glove catch on a
close range shot in the first period to keep it a scoreless tie
at the time and finished with a total of 39 saves which included
19 stops in the middle period alone.

Tornadoes vs.
Rockets on Wednesday, July 4
Scott Bouwman was at the
top of his game as he led the
Rockets with
four goals and one assist for a five point player of the game
performance in their
Wednesday night win against the
Tornadoes.
With 19 points so far this season
Scott Bouwman is now in a
three way tie with teammate
Steve Brandon and Extreme
David Shierman for the
overall scoring race.
Mike Parton was top notch for the
Rockets as well as he finished with a total of four points.
Cody Feenstra had a big
two point effort while
Jason Upton and
Eric Havinga each launched
in a goal. Number 28 Brian Havinga
and
Tim Ryskamp each collected
an assist.
Goalie
Alex Nutma was strong between the pipes through the three
periods for the Rockets as he made some great saves on short
range chances.
Tommy McIvor was the
Tornadoes player of the game for the second consecutive match.
McIvor finished with an
awesome four point night and was in on every one of his team's
scores as he fired in a pair of goals and assists.
McIvor increased his
points per game average to 2.00 and now leads the Tornadoes in
scoring as well.
Patricio
Inostroza and
Kenton Lefthand also
fired in goals for the Tornadoes while
Steve Rasmussen
contributed a pair of assists.
Tornadoes defenceman
Brad MacDonald made a
fantastic play as he utilized his speed to race back and prevent
a breakaway opportunity in the third period.

Zine Hussein had an
electrifying game for the Gladiators
as he scored six goals and an assist to power his team to a
Tuesday night victory against the
Tornadoes.
The Gladiators player of the game
Zine Hussein displayed
his devastating shot as he scored his second and third goals of
the night on one timed slap shots which were set up with great
passes from Sam Fares and
Adel Fares.
Zine Hussein has now
climbed up to second overall in goals and fourth overall in
points.
Gladiator
Nazieh Hammoud made a
great deke move from his left to right to score at the 4:59 mark
of the middle period. Just 2:49 later, team mate
Dylan Wiebe fired in the
eventual game winner from the right hand boards to give his team
a 5-4 lead.
Adel Fares finished with
an awesome four point night for the Gladiators.
Hadi Fares had a great
match as well with three points on the strength of a third
period goal and two assists.
Sam Fares notched a pair
of assists too which included the tape to tape pass for
Zine Hussein's second
goal.
Sid Abdallah also
contributed an assist as he made a perfect pass to set up
Nazieh Hammoud's big
deke goal in the middle frame.
Gladiators goaltender
Lino Martino stopped a
point blank chance at his doorstep on the right side the crease
in the middle period and continued on to finish with a total of
24 saves, which included 13 stops in the first period alone, for
the win.
The Tornadoes player of the game
Tommy McIvor got his
team on the score board early with a fantastic backhand to
forehand deke on a breakaway goal just 1:59 into the first
period. He came through for his team once again only 1:40 into
the middle period with a power play goal.
Tommy McIvor nearly had
his hat trick goal on a great breakaway chance later in the same
period.
McIvor now has four
goals in only three games to start his season at a top flight
pace of 1.33 goals per game.
Tornadoes
Phil Ray and
Kenton Lefthand both
rifled in a goal apiece on the night with
Ray netting his goal in the
first frame while
Lefthand notched his
in the second period. Lefthand
also collected an assist for a big two point night and now has
four points in just three games.
Jamie Ryan picked up an
assist to continue his lead of the Tornadoes in points with six.
Joe Nitychoruk
contributed an assist as well which was his fifth point of the
season.
Goalie
Rob O'Donnell completed
the match with some big stops for the Tornadoes especially his
incredible save in the middle period on a short range one timed
shot which was set up from a pass on his left side.

Joel Nedohin propelled
the Cyclones to a
5-2 win against the
Tornadoes with a tremendous hat
trick needing only the first two periods to score all three
goals.
Roy Canteras and
Jeremy Kander also
scored for the Cyclones while
Gary Leblanc and
Davin Johnsrud had big
two point games with a pair of assists apiece.
Mike Wroblewsky,
Ed Powers, and
Mark De Souza each
contributed an assist for the win.
Cyclones goalie
Matt Waldorf completed the
match with an awesome .926 save percentage as he turned aside 25
of the 27 pucks aimed his way through the three periods.
Jamie Ryan was the
Tornadoes player of the game for the second time this season.
Ryan picked up his team
leading fifth point in just his third game when he scored in the
midway point of the second period.
Stan Mazursky got the
Tornadoes on the score board at 9:28 of the opening frame which
gave his team an early 1-0 lead.
Joe Nitychoruk and
Patricio
Inostroza assisted on the goal.
Tornadoes goaltender
Rob O'Donnell stopped 19
shots which included some key saves throughout the game.

Ice Storm on Monday, June 11

The
Tornadoes were defeated
5-4 in a
close battle to end by the
Ice Storm.
Kenton Lefthand was
the player of the game for the Tornadoes as he led the offence
with two points. Lefthand
notched an assist and scored a huge power play goal to make it a
one goal affair with 5:23 left in the final period.
Tommy McIvor,
Joe Nitychoruk, and
Ryan
Ewasiuk
each launched in a goal for the Tornadoes as well.
Brad MacDonald,
Patricio
Inostroza,
Robert MacInnis, and
Jamie Ryan all contributed
an assist apiece. Tornadoes goalie
Rob O'Donnell turned
away 23 shots over the three periods which included some big
stops from short range.
The Ice Storm player of the game,
Mike Cook, had a three point
effort with a goal and two assists.
Cook now has a combined
total of nine points in just his first two games of the season.
Patrick Lauzon
continued his torrid better than one goal per game pace from
last season as he fired in a pair of pucks, both in the first
period.
With 5:15 showing on
the score clock in the second period Ice Storm
Nick Oriold went in on a
short handed breakaway and made a super smooth forehand to
backhand deke for the colossal goal which gave his team a 4-3
lead headed into the third period.
Chris Sawchuk scored the
eventual game winner for the Ice Storm on a power play early in
the final frame.
Sawchuk had an assist
earlier in the match as well to finish with a two point night.
Carlo DeLuca also
contributed an assist.

chance by the Tornadoes sniper

Tornadoes vs.
Extreme on Friday, June 8

Kris Pickering led the
Extreme with a dominating seven goal performance which
propelled his team to a Friday night win over the
Tornadoes. Team mate Danny James had
an outstanding match as well with five points on the strength of
four goals and an assist.
Extreme goaltender Ian
Brunton was great in guarding the 6x4 net as he made some big
stops especially his excellent glove save off a point blank shot
from the side of the crease early in the game.
Jamie Ryan was the
player of the game for the Tornadoes as he notched a team
leading three points. Joe Nitychoruk fired in a pair of goals,
one in each of the first two periods. Steve Copeland and Tommy
McIvor each rifled in a goal as well while
Patricio
Inostroza contributed two assists.
Tornadoes goalie Rob
O'Donnell turned aside 21 shots which included some good saves
such as his big glove grab during the middle period.
