Division A Bronze
Medal: Thrashers vs. Strange Brew on Thursday, April 6th

The
Thrashers are the CAHL 2005-2006
Bronze Medalists after defeating the
Strange Brew in game two by the
score of
7-4.
Tyson Pylypiw,
Mark Voghell,
Wade Chapman, and
Mark Sebastian all had
great three point games for the Thrashers.
Chris Salewich had a
big two point night.
Blair Wetzstein made
many great saves throughout the match and turned aside a total
of 31 shots.
David Welichka led
all Strange Brew scorers with a great three point night.
Jesse Hove and
Ron Linklater both
had very good two point games.
Cam Collingwood and
Wayne Sopko scored a
goal apiece. Kerry Kennedy
picked up an assist.
Darren Yates stopped
21 shots including a huge save in the first period diving across
the crease to stop a shooter at point blank range.

Playoffs: Rockets vs.
Strange Brew on Wednesday, March 15th

The
Rockets won the best of three semi-finals versus the
Strange Brew and will advance to
the finals after defeating the Strange Brew
11-6 in game two.
Kyle Ustache and
Kyle Lewis led the way for
the Rockets with outstanding six point games.
Kyle Ustache scored a hat
trick and got three assists. Kyle Lewis
scored twice and got four assists.
Chaynne Klatt had a great
game as well with one goal and three assists for a total of four
points. Scott Bouwman and
Scott Bergen both had big
games scoring a pair of goals each.
Curt Bransma,
Jason Upton, and
Tim Rycecamp all had good
two point games.
David Welichka and
Jesse Hove were awesome
for the Strange Brew.
David Welichka
scored a hat trick and had two assists for a total of five points.
Jesse Hove had a five
point night as well with one goal and four assists.
Cam Collingwood and
Mark Ross scored a goal
apiece.
Andrew Banister,
Kerry Kennedy, and
Wayne Sopko all had big
two point games.
Darren Yates turned
aside 32 shots and made some huge stops including a diving save
on a cross ice pass and a great point blank pad stack save in
the second period.

Playoffs: Strange Brew
vs. Rockets on Wednesday, March 8th

The
Strange Brew lost to the
Rockets 2-6 in the
opening game of the best of three games series.
Kyle Ustache had an
excellent night for the Rockets scoring a hat trick and adding
an assist for a total of four points.
Andrew Warwick scored
the game winner on a short handed goal late in the second
period.
Scott Bergen and
Curt Bransma both had
solid two assist games. Eric
Havinga and
Kyle Lewis scored a goal
apiece. Jordan Pinkster
and
Scott Bouwman each picked
up an assist. Phil Bonk had a
great game and turned aside 20 of the 22 shots he faced for a
.909 save percentage.
Mike Wasylyk had a
huge game for the Strange Brew scoring a pair of goals including
a short handed breakaway goal with just 1:06 remaining in the
second period.
Jesse Hove had a good
two point night and
Mark Ross added an
assist.
Darren Yates was great
for the Strange Brew making a total of 43 saves including 18 in
the first period.

Brew: Tuesday,
January 10th
The
Reapers won
4-3 against the
Strange Brew.
Joe Nitychoruk scored
the game winner for the Reapers with just 3:04 remaining in the
game. Adam Wilcox led all
Reapers with a pair of goals.
Jerry MacGawon also
scored a goal.
Domenic Niro,
Dayle Hogg, and
Chris Shurville all
picked up an assist. John
Maughan
had a great night for the Strange Brew with three points.

December 20th
The
Strange Brew were defeated by the
Blues
1-15.
John Maughan scored
the lone goal for the Strange Brew.

an incredible six points each.
Matt Dyck had a fantastic five
point night.

Black Bulls won
10-1 against the
Strange Brew.
Trevor Hammer led the
Bulls with an excellent four point night.
Jason Wawryk and
Shawn Kirwan both had
great three point games.

two goal nights.
Raja Bhattacharyya
scored for the Brew. Strange Brew goalie

an incredible total of 49 shots.

Strange Brew vs.
Rockets: Wednesday,
December 7th

The
Strange Brew lost to the
Rockets 7-8. The Rockets
were down 4-0 early in the game and were behind until the 9:18
mark of the third period when
Andrew Warwick scored to
tie the game 6-6.
John Maughan responded
for the Strange Brew with a shorthanded goal, with 5:24 left to
go, to take the lead once again. There were no goals for the
next five minutes until incredibly with just five seconds left
in the game Rocket Steve
Brandon
scored to tie the game and send it into the shootout. The
Rockets were leading the shootout 3-1 after their first four
shooters. The Strange Brew needed their fourth shooter to score
to stay alive however
Phil Bonk made an incredible
pad stack glove save to win it for the Rockets.
Steve Brandon scored the
shootout winning goal to cap off a fantastic six point night
(four goals and two assists).
Scott Bouwman also had a
great game scoring a hat trick.
Chaynne Klatt had a big
three assist night.
John Maughan had a
huge game for the Strange Brew scoring a hat trick and adding an
assist for a four point night.
Mike Wasylyk

Jesse Hove both had big
games scoring a pair of goals each.

Reapers vs. Strange
Brew: Monday,
November 28th
The
Reapers defeated the
Strange Brew
5-4.
Curtney Aragon scored
what seemed to be the game winning goal for the Strange Brew
with only 0:51left in the third period. Just 19 seconds later
and with only 0:32 left to go, last season's league top scorer
Domenic Niro, scored to tie the game. A shootout was needed
to decide the winner. Both goalies,
Tyler Carrigal of the
Reapers and
Mark Gord of the Strange
Brew, were unbelievable stopping all four shooters from each
team. The Reapers fifth shooter,
Jason Grierson scored,
forcing the Strange Brew into a do or die situation.
Jesse Hove was the fifth
shooter for the Brew. He skated in and went for the top corner
only to have
Tyler Carrigal make a
magnificent glove save to win the shootout for the Reapers.
Shootout hero
Jason Grierson also
added an assist in the game.
Domenic Niro had a great night as well with two goals and an
assist.
Curtney Aragon and
John Maughan had big
two point games for the Brew.

Divers vs. Strange
Brew: Tuesday,
November 22nd
The
Divers beat the
Strange Brew
11-6.
Craig Bezjack had an
incredible four goal, two assist performance for the Divers.
Dan Bourgault and
Kevin Lewis both had great
three point games with two goals and an assist each. The Divers
starting goalie
Steve Miller played as a
skater and had a great game scoring a goal and adding an assist
for a two point night.
Jarret Mann,
Aaron Young,
Luke Thibault all made two
point contributions as well. The Strange Brew's leading scorer,
John Maughan, had a
big three point game with a goal and two assists.
Cam Collingwood and
Curtney Aragon each had
solid two point games.

Robert Harvey led the way
for the Flyers with a great four point night.

Noah Okros had solid two
point efforts.
Shawn Heatley,
Ian Kenney,

Marty Webber each added a
goal.

Cam Furgeson had his first
hat trick and scored his second and third goal of the game just
43 seconds apart in the second period.
Kyle Lewis had a great game
with three points.

with two assists apiece.

way for the Strange Brew with an awesome three point night (a
goal and two assists).
