Gorillas vs.
Potters on Monday, April 30th
The
Gorillas were defeated by the
Potters
13-4 on Monday night.
Sam Borhot led the Gorillas
with a great two goal player of the game effort.
Jordan Friesen had
scored one goal and set up two others for three big points.
Christian
Steingart also had a pair of assists while
James Emery contributed a
goal.
Goaltender
James Ong made a great save
on a point blank shot which was set up from behind his net in
the first period.
Ong finished the match with
14 stops.
Jeff Bourassa led the
Potters with an amazing six goal, two assist, eight point player
of the game performance which included the game winner and a
power play marker. Potters goalie
Chris Smishek had some
memorable saves including a first period split save on a
breakaway however his best stop was simple incredible and
occurred in the third period against breakaway deke when he put
down his arm at the last moment along the goal line to stifle
the puck. Number 17
Dave Maskwa had a huge four
goal night while
Greg Bergeron amassed an
outstanding total of seven points on the strength of six assists
and one goal. Captain
Brendan Engdahl had an
awesome four point match with a pair of goals and assists.
Kirk Ringuette tallied
four big points too as he set up four goals on the night.

Gorillas vs.
Rockets on Wednesday, April 25th
The
Gorillas lost to the
Rockets 7-3 on Wednesday night. Kevin
scored twice while
Christian
Steingart got one goal and one assist. Goalie
James Ong made 40 saves and
was especially great in the second period when he deflected a
total of 18 pucks.
Steve Brandon, number 36
of the Rockets, scored the game winner which was also his 60th
goal of the season at 6:07 of the second period.
Steve got the first
assist on two other goals to complete the night with three big
points. Defenceman
Kurt Bransma rifled in a
pair of goals and an assist for a three point match as well.
Eric Havinga and
Larry Gelean both notched
a goal and an assist apiece. All-star
Scott Bouwman and
Jordan Pinkster each
added a goal while
Jason Upton,
Tim Ryskamp, and
Mike Parton all contributed
assists. Goaltender Alex Nutma turned away 14 shots for the win.

Blues on Tuesday, April 17th
The
Gorillas were defeated 13-6 by the
Blues on Tuesday night. Jim was outstanding for the Gorillas
as he led his team with a five goal, one assist, player of the
game effort.
Sean McClaughlin had
a big two point night with a goal and an assist.
Christian
Steingart and
Clint Graville each
contributed an assist. Goalie
James Ong deflected away 29
shots in the match and came up with some nice stops as well.
The Blues won their
third straight game and only have one loss in their last six
outings.
Kevin Baragon had an
amazing eight point player of the game night for the Blues as he
scored five goals and three assists.
Raja Bhattacharyya
finished with an incredible eight points as well with two goals
and six assists.
Chris Martyniuk fired in
a great hat trick while
Joe Reynolds notched a huge
five point night with one goal and four assists.
Andrew Massicotte and
Jorden VanCamp each put a
puck in the net and
Alex Smith contributed a pair
of assists. Goaltender

Christian picked

five goals and three assists for an incredible total of eight

Shockers won 9-3 against the
Gorillas. Team captain
Brett Borgland led all
Shockers with a pair of goals in the second period just 24
seconds apart.
Andrew Knouse had a big
three point night with a goal and two assists. Leading goalie
Scott Ellard scored one
goal and two assists and now has nine points in just three games
as a skater.
Matt Patterson,
Daniel Swyripa,
Shawn Kraft, and
Eric Tang all contributed a
goal in the match.
Matt Patterson chipped
in an assist as well for a solid two point effort.

Gorillas on Tuesday night.

of the Reaper offence with an outstanding hat trick, two assist,

Domenic Niro had excellent
four point nights with
Scott scoring two goals
and two assists while
Domenic notched one goal
and three assists. Number nine

a goal late in the second period.

Rockets on Wednesday, March 21st
Rocket Steve Brandon
scored two goals in the first period, his 44th and 45th goals of
the season, another two goals in the second, his 46th and 47th,
and two more goals in the third period, his 48th and 49th of the
season. In all, Steve Brandon
scored an astonishing six goals taking him all the way to goal
number 49 of the season leaving him just one away from the 50
goal mark. Steve Brandon
notched an assist as well to round out his incredible seven
point player of the game performance which led the
Rockets to a 10-6 victory over the
Gorillas.
Cody Feenstra had a big
two point match for the Rockets with a goal and an assist.
Jason Upton,
Jordan Pinkster, and
Scott Bergen all fired in
a goal as well. Kurt Bransma,

on Tuesday night. Amazing is the only word to describe the

Reilly Smith was the

night launching in a hat trick and two assists which moved him
up from fifth to third overall in the scoring race. Both
Patrick Lauzon and
Blake Mihalic fired in
hat tricks as well. Blake's
first of three goals was a short handed game winner and
Patrick added an assist
on the team's 13th goal for a total of four points.
Dallas Blommaert also
had an great four point performance with two goals and two
assists.

period.
Cam Fuller also scored in
the second while
Brock Anderson and
Sam Borhot each contributed
an assist. Goaltender
James Ong deflected 31 shots
on the night including 13 in the first frame.
Shamrocks Captain
Geoff Zimmerman
notched his third natural hat trick of the season scoring all
three goals within a timeframe of just 3:24 or on average of one
goal every minute and eight seconds.
Geoff completed his
player of the game display with an incredible tally of five
goals and one assist.
Chad Shoemaker rifled
in the game winning goal and had a great overall night with four
points scoring a pair of goals and assists.

Gorillas vs. Potters on Wednesday, October 11th

Goalie Chris Smishek
made his 32nd consecutive save of the season to earn the second
of his back to back shutout victories for the Potters. This time it
was a 5-0 win over the Gorillas. The Potters player of the
game, number 98 Chad Cox, was the team's offensive leader
scoring twice to go along with two helpers for an excellent
total of four points. Dave Maskwa and Ian Wagner also had big
multi-point games with Dave netting two goals and Ian getting
two assists. Jason Villeneuve scored the game winning goal at
the 11:44 mark of the first period. Yvan Lagasse, Ryan Shand,
and Kirk Ringuette each added an assist. The
Gorillas player of the game, goalie
Gregg Nordin, started
with 13 saves in the first period alone and finished with a
total of 28 saves on the night.

Ice Storm vs. the
Gorillas on Tuesday, October 3rd

The Ice Storm won 12-0
against the Gorillas. Nate Kazimir turned away all 15 shots for
the shutout. Kyle Myden and Brett Watts both had huge nights
for the Ice Storm with five and four points respectively. Kyle
scored twice and had three assists while Brett scored a hat trick
and had one assist. Reilly smith also had a big night with a
goal and an assist.
The Gorillas
goaltender Gregg Nordin made 27 saves on the night including a
big first period with 12 saves to keep the game within reach. |
